Many managers make the mistake of thinking employee happiness and employee engagement are the same thing – but that would be like comparing apples to oranges. Why? Well you could be incredibly happy and satisfied each day at the office, but your mood and frame of mind don’t necessarily correlate to engagement – which is really more accurately described as “emotional investment”, a very different metric.
